GroceryDeals is an online marketplace enabling grocery retailers to advertise exclusive deal vouchers to shoppers across Australia. Shoppers purchase vouchers online and redeem them in-store using a QR code.
GroceryDeals collects payment on your behalf and remits the net proceeds to you via Stripe Connect, subject to the fee and hold-period provisions in these Terms.
To register as a retailer you must:
• Be a registered Australian business entity with a valid ABN (11 digits). • Operate a physical grocery retail location in Australia. • Provide accurate business and banking information during registration. • Complete Stripe Connect onboarding to receive payouts.
GroceryDeals reserves the right to verify your ABN with the Australian Business Register and to request additional documentation at any time. Approval of your account is at our sole discretion.
Payouts are processed through Stripe Connect. You must complete Stripe's identity and banking verification before any funds can be transferred to you.
By accepting these Terms you also agree to the Stripe Connected Account Agreement and the Stripe Services Agreement. If your Stripe account is suspended, we may pause your ability to post new deals and hold outstanding payouts until the account is restored.
Pricing rule: The deal price you set must be strictly lower than the stated original price. This is enforced by the Platform and violations are rejected.
Accuracy: Deal descriptions, images, quantities, and expiry dates must be accurate and not misleading under Australian Consumer Law. You must not set an inflated "original price" to create a misleading impression of the discount.
Prohibited goods: You must not list deals for alcohol, tobacco, prescription medicines, age-restricted products, or any product whose sale is restricted by law, without obtaining all required licences.
Images: You grant GroceryDeals a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display images you upload. Images must not infringe any third-party intellectual property rights.
GroceryDeals charges a 10% platform fee on every voucher sold, calculated on the deal price (inclusive of GST where applicable).
The fee is deducted automatically via Stripe Connect's application_fee_amount at the time of each transaction — no separate invoice is issued. The platform fee is non-refundable except where a refund is triggered by GroceryDeals due to retailer closure or deal withdrawal.
Settlement: After a shopper redeems a voucher in-store, GroceryDeals initiates a Stripe Transfer of the net proceeds (deal price minus 10%) to your connected Stripe account.
Hold period: A 7-day hold applies from the time of redemption to protect against chargebacks. Funds transfer on the 8th day following redemption, subject to no active disputes.
Dispute fee: If a shopper raises a payment dispute (chargeback), a $25.00 AUD dispute-handling fee will be debited from your ledger balance.
Ledger: Your financial position is tracked via an append-only ledger viewable in the Payments section of your dashboard.
You must scan and validate vouchers using the QR-code scanner in your retailer dashboard.
You must honour every valid, unexpired voucher presented by a shopper without imposing additional conditions not stated in the original listing. Vouchers are single-use — once scanned the Platform marks the voucher REDEEMED immediately. Do not attempt to redeem vouchers outside the Platform scanner.
If you experience technical issues scanning a voucher, contact support@grocerydeals.com.au before refusing to honour the deal.
You may withdraw an active deal at any time from your dashboard. Vouchers already purchased remain valid and must be honoured through the original expiry date.
If you withdraw a deal and are unable to honour existing purchased vouchers (e.g., due to business closure), notify GroceryDeals immediately. GroceryDeals will issue full refunds to affected shoppers and may recover the refunded amounts from your ledger balance.
Repeated deal withdrawals resulting in consumer refunds may result in suspension of your account.
For full details on how shopper refunds affect your account and payouts, see the Refund Policy at grocerydeals.com.au/refund-policy.
GroceryDeals may suspend or terminate your retailer account immediately if you breach these Terms, fail to honour vouchers, receive an unusual volume of chargebacks, provide false information, or become subject to insolvency proceedings.
Upon termination you remain liable for all outstanding amounts owed. GroceryDeals may set off any such amounts against funds held in your Stripe Connect account.
You may terminate your account with 30 days' written notice to support@grocerydeals.com.au, provided there are no outstanding payout holds or active disputes.
We collect and process your personal and business information in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
Shopper data you access via the dashboard is disclosed solely for the purpose of voucher fulfilment. You must not use shopper data for any other purpose, including direct marketing, without the shopper's express consent. You must comply with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, GroceryDeals excludes all warranties and conditions not expressly stated in these Terms.
GroceryDeals is not liable for loss of revenue, profit, or business arising from deal withdrawal, account suspension, or Platform downtime; any Stripe payout delay; or indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss of any kind.
Our aggregate liability for any claim is limited to the total platform fees paid by you in the 3 months preceding the claim. Nothing in these Terms excludes rights you have under the ACL that cannot lawfully be excluded.
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless GroceryDeals from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from: your breach of these Terms; any deal you post that is false, misleading, or violates applicable law; your failure to honour a valid voucher; or any third-party intellectual property claim relating to content you upload.
These Terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. In the event of a dispute, the parties agree to attempt resolution in good faith within 30 days of written notice. If unresolved, the dispute will be referred to mediation administered by the Australian Disputes Centre before either party commences litigation.
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified to you by email and via an in-dashboard notice at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Continuing to use the Platform after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
